Jodi Jacobson Chernoff

Jodi Jacobson Chernoff is a Principal Researcher in the Education program at the American Institutes for Research (AIR). Dr. Jacobson Chernoff’s expertise is in early childhood assessments, including the ability to select and evaluate child assessments for their developmental appropriateness, choosing items and writing protocols for assessing very young children and interviewing relevant adults, training assessors and maintaining quality control while collecting assessment data. She is currently designing protocols for evaluating the effect of different interventions or teacher practices on the children involved, ensuring that non-English speakers can participate. This work includes determining how to assess children in languages other than English or Spanish. She has been actively involved in study design decisions, the development of the analysis plan, and developing materials for the client. Dr. Jacobson Chernoff has been participating in study design meetings, meetings with experts, data collection meetings, and researching and purchasing assessments. Dr. Jacobson Chernoff earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park.
